Original Linocut Artwork | Black & White Drawings
My black-and-white work is where emotion leads the way. Through linocut prints and drawings, I focus on detail, contrast, and expression to bring out what feels most present in each subject. Animals often carry joy, kindness, calm, and warmth—the steady, grounding presence I return to again and again. Even when humor slips in, it’s gentle and intentional, woven into the personality of the piece rather than placed on top of it.
Occasionally, more serious or contemplative moments surface, particularly in the human portraits. These works tend to hold tension, frustration, or intensity, reflecting a different emotional space. Across both animals and people, the goal remains the same: to distill feeling into form. Carving and printing by hand allows me to slow down, listen closely, and translate emotion into marks on paper—creating work that feels honest, intimate, and deeply felt.
